food grade DIATOMACEOUS EARTH is good for ants. It is safe around pets and even helps get rid of flees. Be sure to get food grade and NOT the pool stuff. The pool product is heat treated and not safe around pets and not safe around pets and not to good for you either. The food grade is safe and even beneficial.

yup DE also has tons of other natural effects one of my fav is deworming :)

I put some in the cardboard box and wooden box I am using for baby chicks but it does not seem to phase the fireants.
I will some be moving them to the dirt floor coop and can see I might be having a real problem.
Ants also get in poop and spilled chicken feed.
What else would help????????????
