What makes a good seed blend?

After referencing my local NTEP ratings (as well as my local land grant college studies) I have started playing around with the Seed Customizer at SeedSuperstore.com.

I need some advice on what makes a good KBG blend. I was thinking of going Bedazzled/Moon Shadow/Midnight at about 60/20/20. Do these complement each other? Any suggestions for strains that complement bedazzled? Why should I not plant straight Bedazzled since it's the best performing strain for my region?

That seed customizer doesn't do much actual customizing. All it really does is determine whether you should have KBG, fescue, perennial rye, etc. It gives the same KBG recommendation for the Salt Lake City area as it does for Boston.

As far as your percentages go, you probably want to go with equal amounts of each seed you choose.

Here is a list of KBG blends that are customized by state.

I think you're confusing the Seed Customizer with the Seed Express

Has anyone used the blends recommended for their area by Seedexpress? If so, are you happy? I was thinking of going strictly KBG, but I am reading and hearing so many comments about maintenance etc. The seed blend using seed express gives me 3 KBGs with Fescue and rye for the 02747 zip code (Dartmouth, MA)...Opinions needed..rough grade complete, irrigation goin in Monday, seed soon after...HELP!!
