Looks a lot like Camellia sasanqua 'Hugh Evans'.

Rather than a C. japonica, it's either a C. sasanqua or some sort of hybrid.

Fall blooming Japonica sasanqua (or hybrid) in Pink color --- there can be scores of named varieties.

I think all you can really call it is a 'Camellia', possibly sasanqua or sasanqua hybrid.

Without knowing the history of it, it could even be a seedling.

But it's really pretty! I would hang on to it!

I'd call it a perpetual, unnecessary maintenance chore, that close to the house and under those windows. It will need to be trimmed often to stay that size, several times per year to stay that shape. Unless you like trimming shrubs at least annually, I'd move or replace that. If left alone, it would eventually 'eat' that corner of the house (unless there are some Camellias that don't get that big.) They are lovely shrubs if they are able to be all they can be. I've seen hummingbirds visiting each flower on the ones at my Mom's house.

Is that Schefflera to the right? Who can tell which one it is?

I agree that the poor Camellia is being constricted and contorted by being sheared into a blob on bare legs. They are beautiful when left to their natural selves. Plus it would produce far more bloom. If it's moveable I'd move it. If not I'd take one stem back to the ground to enable it to fill in at the bottom. Then take each stem down in successive years to bring the whole thing lower. Then prune with secateurs rather than hedge cutters taking shoots back to a bud whenever it needs it. It could be kept attractive and smaller but it would involve some thought and effort.
