I planted mine in September of 2006. It was a beautiful plant and grew quickly, but after couple days of cold spell (mid 30's) this past Feb, it began to look stressed and weak. In May this year, it finally bent over and died before sending out any bloom. My other bananas survived. So, I was told this banana is cold sensitive and has to be protected from strong wind. Fortunately mine produced a pup before it died. The pup was ok and it's now above 6 ft. It's now still sitting on the north end of my yard. If it pups this year, I'll try to relocate the pup to a warmer and more protected place. So, if you can, give it lots of protection. Have fun with your Kru.

Bananas are tasty, but plant is very sensitive to cold. My coldest temp this winter was 38 deg two days, and some plants did not survive or needed to be cut way back. Most red bananas have the same sensitivity.

This Kru has bent over. It is the only pup left behind from the mother plant which also bent over and died this February. I transplanted this pup a few months back and it was doing ok for a while. Now I don't know if it has died and I'm done with Krus, or there's still hope? Is there anything I can do? Would appreciate any advice.
