Propagation of Camelias from Stem Cuttings

Can it be done? Will they take if I just stick them in the soil? Will they root if I let them stay in the water? I only have the stem cuttings and they are one week old. Anything I should do to increase the chance of success (with the stem cuttings)?

Camellias are relatively easy to root in general, but certain varieties and species are more difficult. There is an excellent article on CamelliaWeb that may give you some direction. See the link below.

Another suggestion. Do a search here on GardenWeb for the postings I have done on the Toothpick Technique. This is the way I root Camellias. Easy.
