I recently bought a bunch of "Nifty Thrifty" Sea Pink plants and they are confusing me. I planted them in amended heavy clay soil in full sun and they don't seem to be doing very well. They are confusing me because on cloudy or rainy days they look happy and perky. The little leaves are pert on such days. On sunny days, however, the leaves look limp and flaccid. Watering them doesn't change the flaccidness of the leaves. They only look perky on cloudy days. I am afraid to water them too much because they are in clay and watering doesn't seem to perk them up. Is it possible they are getting too much sun? They have 8+ hours of sun this time of year. Maybe this is normal? Any ideas? Many thanks.
