Things you can try with grapes are: blackberries, hyssop and beans. Grapes like slightly acidic soil. Look for other fruits and veggies that can tolerate acidic soil.

I was wondering why my grapevines were not growing very fast. I'm in Indiana and they were planted two years ago. A friend came by and told me his were going crazy and already had grape clusters forming. I was told to put bloodmeal around the roots and water. I have read that they like acidic soil. Would it be ok to use my blueberry fertilizer as it is quite acid based product? ...And how much should I use? I was also told that geraniums were good for grapes as well so I bought several and planted them in a circle around the roots. Could this be a problem instead of a boon?
