    Of course sometimes the wear adds to the beauty of the patina...if you can see it that way ;-)

    We have the same problem as bawdywench. Saw on another site on Houzz where the floors were sanded and WOCA oil was applied. Am definitely going to look into this because I don't want to go through refinishing and sealing and having to move out for days for it to dry.

    Also look into Rubio Monocoat oil/wax finish.

    These are wide plank southern pine floors. The key thing about wide plank pine to keep in mind when installing is that they MUST be dry or they may warp and/or shrink and/or cup after the installation. Oil finishes are a good alternative to a polyurethene. Make sure you do your homework on those as I'm not an expert.
