I just bought a Meyer lemon tree from Lowes, i wanted to know how long can i leave the tree in a 3 1/2 Gal container? it is about 6 ft tall and has lots of buds.

Thank you

With a winter protection, your tree should be fine planted in the ground. Plant it id you can.

If you're leaving it in a container, that's a bit small for a 6' tall tree. I would be more inclined to pot it up into a 15 gal container, but I'll defer to our container citrus experts.

As always, if you can post a picture, you will get better answers.

its probably close to being root bound if it isn't already.

what do you plan for the meyer? in ground or in pot? do you want it to get big?
