Probably too late for this batch of roses, but the way to do it is strip off all the foliage, tie them in small bunches, and hang them upside down to dry.

Keep them out of direct sunlight for better color, and if you're drying a lot make sure you have adequate ventilation to prevent mold and speed up the drying. A regular fan in the room will do. A little heat is good too.

As your flowers dry they'll keep opening up a bit so make sure you do it when they're still buds or just slightly open.

I was wondering what I was doing wroung. No one was writing. I want to make rose flower wreath's. I have over 500 roses bushes so I don't want them to go to waste.

Bucky Another way to make rose wreaths is to make them fresh and hang the wreath upside down. A fan, heat and no light is a must. I dry 10,000 or so roses a year. If you are using a wreath machine you can plan on 8 to 10 roses a clamp unless you are putting other types of material in the wreath. I will try and get you some pictures. Bryan

I've dried garden flowers and find that some harbor moth eggs that hatch during the drying/storing period. Nasty! I'd spray with Sevin or someother poison prior to cutting and drying.

I grow only organicly, what could I use instead? In the past I just monitor the dryings (hung upside down, rubberbanded and placed on strings across the room. If I see any problems I simply remove them with my hands...Of course with 10,000 roses (which I surely am far from having) methods can not be inspected as well with out staff or other help to monitor and do the labor.
