Is your plant the Aucuba Gold Dust...evergreen shrub with glossy leaves variegated with gold splashes? If so it is rather slow to root. I've often used the plain green variety in flower arrangement and it stays fresh a long time but doesn't root ...other shrubs will often start to root in a week or two. I'd just continue to keep your cuttings watered and when you see new growth you'll know they have rooted. These shrubs grow best in shade, so be sure the cuttings are in good light but no sun.
