I'm a new gardener and am enjoying it so far..However, I have a few shady spots in my yard (along the fence, under evergreen trees) that are just dirt (I dug out the weeds, that was fun!). I planted some asiatic jasmine, but it's kind of being a slowpoke...How fast is it supposed to grow?

does anyone have other suggestions on a faster plant? I have a some that are growing like wildfire but am not sure what they are...I've done some research and they look like creeping jennys (kind of) but have some purple blooms (tho not very often). Anyone know what these might be?
