Pine Knot gardens is in Virginia, somewhere the NC border I think and I they have two "hellebore days" in February and March. I just wrote to ask about them - what will we see, do we need to make an appointment, and (most important) can we buy plants in bloom. I'm hoping to hear back soon. If I were to choose between the two, I would go with Pine Knot (Clarksville, VA north of Raleigh near the border) simply because they specialize in hellebores and have notoriously good stock... although I have no reason to doubt Gethsemene (and of course each has different dates scheduled so you could always do both).
And you can make appointments and buy plants in bloom. They reportedly have some plants blooming from November-June. Hellebore days is scheduled for times that peak bloom is expected. Last year they extended hellebore days over several weekends due to weather.
