I don't have Janice Brown, but give it a little time. Many times the first bloom or two of a new Dayliliy will be "off". The eye is pale too, so I think it needs a little more time to settle. Have you been watering it good? If not,give it a good soaking.

I've had JB for about 5-6 years now, and I remember how disappointed I was when it bloomed the first time. Unfortunately, mine never improved all that much. It's still here, but I've since found (and added) probably 100 more that are more "pink" than JB.

When my Husband came home he said "oh, a new orange flower" That made me sad! Sure, I would like suggestions. I might not act on them for a year or two until I have a new bed but it is fun to research! Also, what are the preferred vendors?

I got soem Janice Brown in error, they were suppose to be Barbara Mitchell. They bloomed about three weeks in the ground from bare root, (Oakes Daylilies sends great plants) anyway it looked like yours. I have been told the first blooms look a little off and the next set will be much better. BTW Oakes sent me an order of the Barbara Mitchell I ordered at no cost. And the Janice Brown were more expensive. Good Customer service.

redsox, here's some that bloom pink for me. (In looking at color descriptions, I found that those described as "rose" were much pinker than those described as "pink" -- those can look peach at times.)
