Do you need a home for some of that stone?

My vote is, fill it full and hope for the best. Are you planting in rows or in squares/groups? I'm sure you'll get more useful answers from more experienced gardeners but I can't see why you can't plant enough of all the plants you listed to keep you in veggies for the summer. Worst case scenario, you will be doing some thinning and sharing seedlings with your neighbor. Better that than empty spots...

It sounds like a nice sized area to me. Depending on how many of each you're planning on planting, and how you go about it, you should have plenty of space for everything. Try to grow indeterminate/vining things you have vertically instead of horizontally. You're more likely to have room for everything that way.

I dumped the stone at the back of my lot along a tree row. I've got a neighbor picking through it because he's building a small retaining wall at the end of his driveway.

If you want some stone, you'll need to wait till next year when I dig up another 20' x 40' area. I'll bet I've got plenty more. Shoot, I'll bet there's more where my current garden is if I dig a bit dipper.

As for planting. When ya'll say I should have plenty of room for everything, are you talking about everything I posted, which includes what my neighbor thinks will fit?

I think you can fit evrything, including what your neighbor suggested. Make sure you plant the corn in a block, rather than a long row - you'll get better pollination. Like 4 rows about 4-5 feet long, 1 foot apart. Take a cue from native Americans and under plant the corn with squash, letting it ramble through and maybe climb the corn stalks. Add pole beans and you've got the 3 sisters. Pole beans are more productive in less space than bush beans. They produce all season, rather than in one burst.

The best use of space may be a modified form of Square FT gardening. Look on that forum for ideas and adjust them to your needs.
I'm doing veggies by SQ ft so I have more room for flowers
