Need help for which bushes to buy for hedges in NJ

I'm looking to plant a row of hedges alongside my driveway, about 40' long. I want it to grow approximately 5-8' tall, while staying fairly narrow (Max 2-1/2 - 3' wide), but the higher the better. I want to block the neighbors driveway and back door. Not looking for Arborvitae or anything like that, already have them on the other side.

I want the form a wall, where I would square off the hedges. I have no idea what type of bushes/hedges to plant. Any ideas? Also if you can suggest where I could buy them that would so greatly appreciated!

Are you looking for something evergreen like yews or boxwood?
Do you have shade or sun?

If you don't need something evergreen how about Viburnum. There are lots of types but generally upright and can get tall with time. Deer don't touch mine.

Inkberry holly is a good native evergreen which has done well for me. It may take it some time to reach the height you mentioned.
Another good native I love, and it makes a great hedge is Cranberry Viburnum. It flowers in the Spring, gets red berries in the fall, and it is a fast, upright grower. The foliage is EXTREMELY dense. Although deciduous, it leafs out early and the leaves hold late, with great fall color!
