I've been seeing lots of them here over the last year. A few of them didn't survive last summer, but most of them did. They're really pretty.

tried the north side of the house. One lasted a year. The next one 5 years. I'm planting a redbud instead.

I have several spruce in Edmond. Plant them high in the hole, in the fall, and tons and tons of mulch. They do quite well. They just need some water in the summer. I have blue, Norway, oriental, and Serbian spruce all in full sun. They add so much to some boring OK landscapes. I figure since they survived the last 2 summers after just being planted, that once we get a normal summer again, they will just thrive.

I'm the same person asking about the junipers. If you're that close to me would you mind looking at the spot? I've lost 2 blue spruce where I thought they would live. And I have no idea what to do with this hot yard. I love spruce and they are relatively allergy fee. I would love to know how to grow one or several.

Lots and lots of thick mulch to reduce the soil temperature is the only way for them to survive as the soil gets far too hot in ok.
