I have a question about the edulis flavicarpa. When will this darn plant bloom? I have one that's getting quite large and looks healthy but no buds. It's in pretty much full sun, is fed infrequently and given a bit of extra potassium (banana peels) every 4-6 weeks, same as my other passies that are in full sun but this one doesn't want to bloom. Is it in the wrong conditions? Is there something I can do to encourage flowers?

abdielg I managed to get my flavicarpa to set once last Year.... It go to marble size and Then Dropped off.... *Sigh* What did I do wrong?

Karyn, if your flavicarpa is grown from seed, then you never know when, or even if, it will bloom. Seedlings may take up to 2 or 3 years. Ninecrow, the fruit set will depend on the pollen parent, as flavicarpa is self-incompatible. What did you use? Same question for abdielg.

I got mine as a rooted plant earlier this year in a trade. It's growing around a trellis and has several branches that are at least 6' long.

Mine flowered in the fall last year from seed in the spring. It hasn't flowed again yet this year either. I am thinking that maybe in later summer. The flowers aren't that impressive but I want fruit!

lol sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. It is pretty but what I meant was it wasn't really my favorite to grow just for the flowers but for fruiting. Yours looks better than mine did :P
