This procedure worked for me last year:
September: collect seeds into moist peat in a baggie at room temp.
October-November: fill styro coffee cups (with most of bottoms cut out for drainage) with a moistened mix of 1;1 seed starter:perlite; put 2 or 3 seeds in each cup, cover with glad wrap, and place in basement. A root will come out horizontally from seed, then go downward.
December-January: move cups to frig. A shoot will come out horizontally from seed, then go up, with very small leaves; at this point, move pot out of frig, and grow under fluorescent light.
Supposedly, it will take these plants five years to bloom!

Dave--it sounds like the seeds don't actually have to be frozen, just some penance in the fridge? Is this as easy as it sounds?Thanks,

tp seeds are double dormant, which means that they need to be held for a time in warm (60 deg F)moist conditions, then held for a time in cold (35 deg F) moist conditions. You used the term "frozen"; tp seeds may be killed by temperatures below 25 deg F, so don't put them in freezer.
