That's awesome. OH how I wish I had some in this weather!

Reed, Yay! I'm glad to hear it. Because our drought and heat have hung on so long at this end of the state, most people have let the tomatoes die since you really couldn't even water them enough to keep them going. I still have six plants, all in pots, and all of them have fruit and flowers. The fruit I've been harvesting lately mostly set during a coolish spell in July but no fruit set for a long time after that, except on cherry tomato varieties, because it was just too hot. Even this week, we've had days where the high temperature hit 96 and 98 degrees,which still is hot enough to impede fruit set.

The plants are blooming now, so I am hoping the current blooms set some fruit and that it manages to ripen before the first frost.

I've been harvesting periodic fruit from the fall tomato plants since August, but the only spring-planted tomato plants I still have alive are a couple of SunGolds and a Cherokee Purple in the back garden. They both shouldn't even be alive still as I haven't been watering them, but they're still hanging in there, and are blooming.

I was pretty impressed with the Brazilian Beauties this year and will grow them again.

Reed I hope you get some ripe tomatoes before frost because you deserve them after all your effort. I am getting tomatoes now from plants that I planted late in a load of mushroom compost. I had filled all the spots in my garden when my very kind neighbor brought me a dumping trailer load of mushroom compost. I put in all my seedling that I hadn't had room for in the compost. They were planted too close and not labeled. I didn't think they would come to anything but now I am getting tomatoes there. The cool weather I had in early August which was a fluke of nature I think allowed them to set fruit.
