I got some cayenne peppers from a family member. Some are green and some are red. The green ones are hotter than the red ones. I don't know if this is because the red ones are so sweet and that's offsetting the heat some or what, but the green ones certainly burn more.

I've got one plant with about 60 pods (and more coming in) all green. I tried one a couple of weeks ago and was surprised how hot it was. I tried one of my Carolina Reapers (also green) and there was nothing.

Yup, I grow them as well... Its actually my ugliest plant and best producer (for the amount of work required. I think they have a nice heat and a really tasty flavor. I'm going to try a salsa with the next harvest,,,

I'm hoping to over winter my peppers this year. Last year I did a trial over wintering tomatoes and zukes in EarthBoxes and it worked out really well. So hopefully chilies will do the same.

My red ones are also milder than the green ones, they are really good in salsa.....I just demolished a bowl of it lol
