Bush with little orange pom poms

I wish I could be Scientific about this and describe this better lol, but I just remember this bush as being beside my Grandmother's house growing up. It was kind of scraggly but had the prettiest little orange pom pom type flowers on it. These were Big Orange orange too, not the pale type. I saw another like it the other day , should have stopped to ask what it was but didn't. Anyone have any clue what I'm talking about ? I'd love to know what it is.

This sounds like kerria. I remember it from my Grandmother's house as well, but now I also grow it. They bloom really well in early spring and then sporadically throughout the summer. I think the double pom-pom type blossom is Japanese kerria.
