Is this a Morning Glory?

I thought this was going to be one of those weedy purple ones that grow wild in my yard -- I transplanted it onto a trellis, but the little bloom clusters don't look like any morning glory I've every grown! The vine and leaves look fairly typical to me, though.

The leaves surrounding the flower don't look like morning glory leaves. They sure don't look like the heart shaped ones beside it.

I could be wrong, but the flower looks more like nicandra to me,also known as sho fly plant.

uprooted - Yes the plant you have and linked to is a type of Morning Glory...

It is Jacquemontia tamnifolia common name is Hairy Cluster Vine

The seeds it produces are relatively small...

Thanks to both of you for your responses. littleone, it's definitely a vine and the leaves are somewhat heart-shaped, although you are right, the flower does resemble the nicandra which I googled some pictures of. Ron, that's definitely it. Thanks. The more I looked at the new flowers, which seemed to unfurl like a morning glory, the more I thought they must be related.
