Climbing vine for full sun?

Hi all! I was hoping you could help me with plant selection.

I have an area of my backyard that is a mish-mash of different/ugly fences. I want to cover them up with one type of plant for unity and to use as a backdrop for other plantings.

This area gets full sun and no irrigation (but of course will water to establish). I'm looking for either a shear-able hedge or a vine that can handle full sun.

I love climbing hydrangea but I don't think it would handle all that sun, and I was looking at northern bayberry but it isn't a hedge for shearing.

Any ideas? TIA!

I have Asao Clematis planted in an area that gets 6-8 hours of sun. I keep it mulched around the base of the plant and it is doing great. I also plant a lot of Nasturtium in areas with bad irrigation. It doesn't really vine but when the plant matures it is an eye catcher. Mine vine along the ground.

Virginia Creeper would be ideal. It has deep green leaves that would be a nice backdrop for other plants and it's very drought tolerant.
