Colour of Baseboards

I'm painting the interior of my home using Benjamin Moore's paint #CC400 (Sundial) and CC 410 (Boardwalk) and CC420 (Maple Syrup). I started painting the baseboards with Benjamin Moore's White Cloud, which I love and most of my interior doors are painted that colour white. However, some of my baseboards had been previously painted with 1/2 of the CC 400 (Sundial) and I have to admit I like the softer look, especially against the walls painted the darker shade of Boardwalk. My dilemma is.....do I continue changing over to white? Is that the new thing or should I go with the softer shade. The photo shown with the darker colour is actually the Boardwalk colour...Imagine it slightler lighter.

If this was my home I would paint the baseboards the same color as the wall color. I think white strips along the floor distract the eye. They also show dirt!

Post your question again in the "design dilemma" section. Many more people will see it there. I think you will receive many points of view!

Thank you so much for following up on my query. I decided to go with the BM Cloud White. Once all the baseboards were changed over, I decided that that was the right thing to do. I'm so impressed the with Houzz website and follow it regularly. Keep up the good work!
