Awwwwwwww! Men can be such pests (speaking from experience, of course!). It obviously pays NOT to listen to them ;) I have loads of milkweed, but have never had a caterpillar; I'm jealous! Congratulations!!!!

I have several monarch caterpillar's on the milkweed. I showed my husband the caterpillars, now he knows better than to touch the milkweed. I actually think the flowers of the milkweed are very pretty. I get alot of butterflies on the milkweed flowers, but I really love it when a monarch cat eats away on it!

I have alot of milkweed, but I've only had 1 chrysallis over the years. I keep looking though! I love milkweed. We've let big patches of it grow. I'm glad your husband didn't pull it!

My god, I plant the stuff, several different species. Wonderful plants, fascinating insects that go with them--milkweed bugs and beetles in addition to monarchs. I occasional see monarchs laying eggs, but never a chrysalis or caterpillar.

I tried to reduce the picture, but NOT that small. I guess it finally reduced.

I had three caterpillars on my milkweed today--the kids(and I) thought they were oh so cool. Now, if only the Zebra Swallowtails find my PawPaws!
