Matching finishes

So, I have decided on the tile...a (beige-taupe) travertine knock-off, the cabinetry will be stained a dark walnut (the cabinets will be alder), and the faucets, etc in chrome. Do the lighting fixtures and cabinet hardware need to be in chrome as well? I don't know if I want ALL THAT chrome. I don't want satin nickel because I would think it would clash with the chrome. What else could I use on dark cabinetry? TIA!

Hi CapeGirl!

I had a similar situation in my bathroom - didn't want TOO much chrome. So I used some lights that were the dark Polished ORB color - they coordinated with the dark cabinets. I used the same for the rod above the window. All else was chrome. The window rod was by Allen & Roth from Lowes.

I agree that ORB would go nicely with dark cabinetry and depending on wall color and countertops you might be able to use some black finishes or dark pewter colors.
