The V thing is what I've always done. It won't be perfect if you have to pull the nail and stick the V down, but it'll be a lot better than a hole in the paper.

If the mirror is really heavy, though, you might want to find studs to nail it into that correspond to where you want the mirror...that's when it gets tricky.

I had the mirror hanging in another room - and with the two sets of hardware, it was fine. I have to use those extra large picture hangers -- the REALLY BIG ones. Otherwise, I wouldn't be so freaked out if I was only making a little pin hole in the paper.

Look into picture hangers called OOK. The tempered nail is so small that you would barely see the whole (much less than a V) and has amazing holding power.

Is the wallpaper a texture or a pattern? When I had more wallpaper in our home and I hung pictures, I found that if the wallpaper was a pattern, the holes were never noticeable.

I have used the OOKs for a while, and love them. They are very forgiving!

I'll have to photograph the type of nail/hook thing I have to use. It's quite large.

Well, the paper has a pattern; but with a solid background color. If I was just dealing with one nail, it wouldn't be an issue. But there are two.

I'll need to carefully measure to get the exact placement of the nails & corresponding hooks before I start hammering away.

I'm a paper hangar. I've always used an X . Make sure your have a super sharp razor and you won't lose any paper at all. That means that when you glue it back together, it should be a perfect repair.
