Kitchen Backsplash using monolithic glass.

Hello everyone.

We are building the kitchen of our new house, we have almost everything set including cabinets and silestone counter top and we would love to have a glass backsplash in the kitchen walls (brick and mortar walls). We have gotten an offer from a contractor using monolithic glass for the backsplash. The backsplash will be for the coocktop + hood and the sink's walls, so it will receive heat and water probably. It will be frosted in the back so no painting.

My concern is the durability, care and most of all security of using this type of glass, any thoughts or advices?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Carlos.

Hi Carlos - I don't have the answer, but if you wouldn't mind - could you share the quoted price? I am also interested in this kind of backsplash. :)

    Hi Feisty,

Well, I don't know if this will be helpful for you as I live out of the US (in Venezuela) but it is around 1000 dollars for 6 linear meters of glass, labor included for the installation.
