Wood exterior french doors?

New construction: Would you consider putting an all wood French patio door in a place that was out of the sun and somewhat protected from rain? It will get wet, but itÃ¯Â¿Â½s under a small roof. If you could have the doors for free, would you change your mind?

If they were free, from old wood, and properly finished...yes.

By old wood I take it that WOW is referring to old growth timber or real hard wood. For free you lose very little if you have to redo them in 5 years. Do they have insulated glass, tempered, low e?

Not old wood. Brand new. They sell for 1,300 bucks. Not great, but i figured if I take care of them, they should give me a little time. Help me spend a bit more on my windows.

Are you willing to refinish it every 2-3 years? That is your answer.

Real wood doors are high maintenance.
