Toilet Advice Please - Toto vs American Standards

Hi, I need remodeling my small bathroom. I just found out I need a 10" rough in. I want an elongated, right height toilet that is also on the more compact side. The other thing to note is that I am doing a banjo countertop over my toilet. My vanity is 34.5" high, so the counter will be on top of that.

I really like the Toto Drake, but my only concern is that the flush lever is on the side of the toilet. Will this be awkward to flush with the banjo top? I really like the Totos and have heard they are the brand to go with (mind you, I knew nothing about toilets until this project).

The other option that could fit is the American Standard Cadet Pro, and it has a handle in the front. I also like the American Standard Colony but I don't like that the lever is the same color as the toilet, if it was chrome I'd go for it.

A few questions:
1. Would I be foolish to buy the Drake with the handle on the side?
2. Any feedback on the Drake vs the American Standard Cadet Pro?

Thanks!
