As you're finding out, the perfect color is what looks good in your house with your lighting. And lighting could be part of the problem, at least later in the day:

Yellows are extremely hard to get just right. You might try a very light orange as they don't seem to be impacted much by the light--at least it doesn't in my house. And it's very cheery and warm. I have this color [Behr's version] in my bathrooms, and love how it looks. I also have an orange sherbet accent wall in both my living room and kitchen as my grayish green was just too dark on it own. When I added the accent walls, the whole feel of the rooms changed.

My bathroom looks green and I chose a soft white. It looks good, but not what I'd envisioned. Lol
