Island countertop edge?

Is the edge of the countertop a mitered edge? How thick is it? It's beautiful!

I literally just had my countertop install. Look like that kitchen has at least a 2" edge, like mine. I have a 2" mitered edge. It's caesarstone Frosty Carrina. I found out after the fact that if it was the standard 1.5" they would have not done a mitered edge and just added another piece under, therefore you would see a joint all the way across, not so nice for a stone with very little pattern. I love my countertop!

BEAUTIFUL! Is the mitered countertop raised and built up with plywood underneath the countertop so drawers will open? Or are the cabinets lower?

@Danielle - mine aren't pictured here, but I did a 2" mitered edge (quartz) and they built it up with plywood. It worked out well.

@meredith Thank you for the message. That seems like the standard way of doing it based on my research :) Are your countertops a bit higher then where the mitered edge is? Or did you do a mitered edge everywhere. Thanks again!
