I have a couple raised beds. Last fall, I planted a green manure mix (Peas, clover, oats, hairy vetch, annual rye, cereal rye). I also planted some garlic in one bed, and mulched both with about 4 inches of mowed leaves for a little protection (it has been down to 25 below here this winter). The vetch and cereal rye are supposed to start regrowing when it warms up a bit.

My question: do I need to remove most of the leaves for them to regrow, or will they push up through?
