Can you recommend type & color for my kitchen backsplash tiles?

I'm in the process of re-doing my kitchen and I'm having a hard time choosing my backsplash tiles. I'm looking for something that compliments but doesn't distract from my (TajMahal) quartzite countertops that I love & the white cabinets. So far I've considered a creamy white ceramic tile, but not sure if I'll do subway or 4x4. I'm concerned that the glossy tiles be overpowering and take away from the traditional look, but also afraid a honed or tumbled stone would do the same. Any advice?

What does the TajMahal coutertop look like? I would not choose a 4 x 4" white tile as it will look dated. A white subway or an oversized white subway should look fine and will not detract from your countertop.
