Add a pouf ottoman. Adds extra seating or a foot rest. Can add a fun color to the room and texture.

Your curtains are already too long to be in contact with a baseboard radiator -- it's a fire hazard, as would anything made of material or wicker be that might end up pushed up against the metal in the winter. A ceramic or metal sculpture is your best bet, and maybe switching to blinds on this wall.

Good point, acm. I like the ceramic dog (or cat, or aardvark, or whatever), but that may be because I like creatures in (almost) any form. No ceramic spider.

However, one could do the basket thing with a large ceramic bowl or plate, too.

I think an an oval upholstered ottoman, would fit the angle and space nicely without reaching, or affecting the baseboard radiator . I would do some books, maybe a candle holder, little boxes for storage/decorative and a floral.

I see you have a little greenery on your end table, so maybe I would stick to the same kind, as opposed to some silk flowers, also add some picture frames, and maybe some round decorative round eggs, or spheres..

I have inserted some things in your image to show you. Please excuse the poor presentation, but it's difficult to place in this angle, but it's just to help show you the "idea".

Also, since I don't know dimensions I'm making an educated guess as to how all would fit..
