How is the sink installed?

I have spoken to many contractors and they have been saying that they cannot install a sink in this fashion where there are no supports on the side. Is this a special sink? or a regular farmhouse/apron sink? Thank you so much. Really love this idea.

Don't listen to a word they're telling you! Cast iron or ceramic sinks can be installed like this but they are right, the sides are a little more vulnerable but you'd have to belt it hard to break it. Cast iron is brittle and can break but it shouldn't stop you installing it like this. Anyway, you're the client. Tell them to do it! You will need to seal around the base. Good luck!

Sounds great Artichoke (nice name). I will be using the stainless steel sink here from Costco which according to their installation options can be installed on top of the counter.
