-----from
a GW(Garden Web) refugee...LOL........

OK
you guys..you'll remember me as REALBUSY on our former beloved Garden web whom I miss so... I'm GINA and I had awesome feedback...... I FINALLY I updated my list...and sort of figured out how to navigate this Houzz so If you dont want to trade me for the following I am gonna donate all my
unused stuff to my garden club and to our youth group who are both
VERY active in the State of NJ as I am moving on to Endangered/very
rare heirlooms that may or may not survive out the decade. For
example. BOSTON MARROW SQUASH... thought extinct in the early 1990's,
one or two packets of Landreth Seed remained hidden away and it has
made a comeback (Well sort of)..I'm gonna be growing this and other
almost extinct veggies and flowers to keep things goin' and the home
fires burnin'... so if you contact me later in the fall I may have
some Really cool stuff for you to try...in the meantime...

Here's
my list and I can't list all the rare tomato seeds I have so you;ll
just have to ask for heirlooms you have been seeking or you can let
me pick for you what would be best for your growing area and
conditions (let me know what they are, even part shade) (I'm garden
club president, going for Master gardener and have won many awards)
so you'll have to trust me on this one...LOL) or even flowers and
peppers too.... as long is it is a NON-INVASIVE to your area (Don't
worry, I'll ck).

Here
we go, contact me ASAP with your want list and I'll see what I can
do...

Hi Gina, I just joined the web the last Nov. I gave away most of my seeds so I have nothing to trade, but reading your comment of donating to club, I wonder would you mind sending me some of the tomatoes that suitable for 7a? My husband loves cherry tomatoes best. And I would love to taste all the different types.

I don't have anything to trade yet. I am interested in trying any endangered varieties you think would do well in zone 10. I have full sun, full shade and partial shade. I know a lot of the tribes in the area grow gourds. I am very inexperienced but very interested in preventing extinction.

Would love some heirloom tomatoes! I've never grown anything heirloom but would love to try! Afraid all I have to offer are mostly flowers and grasses this season

I love what you are doing. It's a special assignment, a calling, to grow very rare seeds. Plus, you're supporting your local garden club and community. Kids are so disconnected from their food sources!

In order to pm each other you have to edit your set up page. Then you click on the person's username you want to contact (example: Lisa) and then click on Message.

If you get your Houzz email forwarded to your personal account you can't just hit "reply". You need to go back to Houzz.

It's different--but without Houzz this site would have been toast long ago. In fact, Houzz is adding more plant-related information. We've proven to be an asset.

Just a heads up that if you're new at trading and let Gina "pick heirloom tomatoes that are right for your zone," you might just get the most common 10-cent pack varieties you can get at the drugstore like I did. Disappointing, so I mailed them back. It felt better to just send stuff for free for the cost of postage. Oh well, now I know better.
