Outside of shower trim

Wondering if the trim outside the shower is wood? If so, is the wood covering the tile edge directly? I would like to do this around my shower but my tiler doesn't recommend putting wood up against tile. I have a linear drain installed on the glass shower door side as well. Could you please explain how you got this look. Thank you so much!!
