Thanks for your questions. The driveway is composed of decomposed granite with an exposed/ washed aggregate concrete border. The border is 12" wide and really works well keeping clean lines and containing the granite. The granite will wash some but compacts and holds up pretty well (Its been 4 years since installation and it has just started washing a little and we had heavy floods this spring 26" in 24 hours). It should hold up to ice and snow it will perform the same as a gravel road.
