Carrs, get only what you actually _need_. day to day. Save the $ for elsewhere, exactly as you said. :)

30"s is standard for a stove here in the US.

I think it depends on the kitchen and your needs.
Do you cook a lot?
Did you go high end on refrigerator? As in sub zero?

If the rest of the kitchen is really high end, then it is expected the range would be larger (unless this is a small kitchen in a big city, then most appliances are scaled down in size).

Posting pictures of your kitchen might help with responses.

I cannot post pictures since it is not built yet but I appreciate what you are saying. I do cook every day but I guess my frugal side was having trouble laying out that kind of money for a stove. Thank you to all. I probably will stay at 30".
