Weird sunken tub

So in a friends new house I'm helping to design there is this weird sunken tub. It's definitely odd but kind of cool also. Any ideas to redesign and keep or just fill it in and make it a shower??

Hey there. We do a lot of bathroom remodels and we don't get to see things like this too often. My opinion....keep it. That's way cool! Have you considered a "zero edge" look in your designs? This might be the next big thing in bathroom trends. Good luck
