Beige walls and beige carpet

Is it boring to have beige walls with beige carpet? I'm choosing a wall color for a room with no windows that has beige carpet. Suggestions? Also, the family room has an orange, beige and brown flagstone fireplace. I want to paint the walls a beige so the fireplace doesn't stick out too much visually, but the carpet is beige. Is it too repetitive to have beige on the floors and walls?
