Thinking about going to an all white laundry room...

For the longest time I have been looking at wall colors for my laundry room/ mudroom and mudroom bath. One of the issues is that I have struggled with in choosing a color is that the floor tile is orangey beige. So I have been considering going a creamy white on walls, wainscoting, and trim.

Now here's the thing- I have color throughout my home with white trim. But I have been really wanting to have a white space and I love farmhouse style. Have any of you simply done a white room in a house with color?

I probably should mention that this room is where everyone enters our home. Would love to hear your thoughts.

My laundry room is white and I love it. Like yours, it's where we exit the house to our attached garage. My floors are a brownish red brick. I've added accents via art, etc. in colors that work with colors throughout the rest of my home. But, I also chose my accent pieces in there to make me happy, since I'm the one doing the laundry.

I do have to add, though, that I somehow allowed my husband and daughter to talk me into buying a (University of Oklahoma Sooner) crimson Samsung washer and dryer. So, my laundry room isn't entirely white anymore (LOL)! But, red is one of the main accent colors in the rest of the house, so it does work well enough in my laundry room.

I think the laundry room sounds like it would look nice in white but as to whether it will look like it doesn't relate to the rest.... how visible is it from the main areas of the house? I would try and add art or a rug that relates to your other colors.

As much as I love the idea of an all white space, since I don't have one, I'm thinking that it's not going to work for the space.

The mudroom leads into my kitchen which is Powell Buff. The floor is my issue with choosing a color so I'm rethinking colors for that room. I have actually put this area off for several years, and now it really needs to be redone. Thanks for weighing in!

All white laundry rooms do work. If you don't want it to be visible to the rest of the house, just close the door. As Lynn said, you are the one who does the laudry, so you get to say what color the room will be.

One of the issues is that there isn't a door here. But the other issue is that I just don't think white is going to work in my particular space. I have been consulting with Kylie from Kylie M. Interiors and she has given me some great color suggestions that I think will bring the space to life. She had also mentioned that white may not be the best for that space, but I had to discover that on my own. Thanks for you all that took the time to weigh in.
