My 3 stems (above the water line) are still rigid.

Are they in a container or in a pot of water? If in a container, wait to see what happens. Mine die back to the roots every year and come back out.

They are potted. No signs of life yet but they appear to be taking in the water. At what point should green start to appear? Just don't know if I should scrap these and start over. The trunks still don't feel super firm

They're probably just dormant. They won't put out shoots until the soil and air warms warms. Mine aren't sprouting yet either. If you really want to, you can pull them out of the pot to see if the roots are still alive and if any part near the bottom is green when scraped. It won't hurt them to do that.

Jen, where are you located? What are the temperatures outside right now? It's pretty early in most of the country for them to come back out. I'm in Z9 FL and mine haven't come out yet.

Thank Rikki - I will try that today. I'm in NY so they are not outside they were in my basement all winter. I am hoping they survived
