Hello all, my husband and I have just recently bought a fig tree here in South Carolina. We have had it for merely a week, and have noticed that a substantial amount of its leaves have been eaten by some pest. I believe it is a beetle of some sort. I do not notice anything on it during the day. So I believe this only happens every night. We brought it in for a few days to monitor it and there wasn’t any change to the leaves then… Yesterday I bought some marigolds and planted them around the base of it (because it is in a large pot) and then left it outside for the evening. This morning it was obvious that it had been gnawed upon once again. I have many other trees that I have had for years, and I’m starting to learn that fig trees can be a bit finicky… So any advice would be extremely helpful!
