looks like i added this discussion in two places! but thank you. They were black, i spray painted them to use in bathroom but then tried here. what color would work better?

more creamy... the color of the mat in the frame, and in the guitar. but i agree with the other post (which i subsequently discovered) that less is more, decor wise.

I would forego the mantle based on the limited vertical space and replace the 3 blue vases with one larger item.

I wouldn't have anything on the mantel with the TV there.

I agree regarding the screen fighting with the stone...easy fix.

I don't think your mantel is wide enough to add decor along with the TV. See how much extra width the one below has?

Another idea to add something to the overall look would be to cover existing mantel with a new one, easiest to do if you like the reclaimed barn wood look: How to make a slip covered mantel.

Too bad about that screen. It has nothing to do with your fireplace - they do not relate. You could use it as a baby or pet gate.

remove that mantel you have and get a heavy wood one. like this

Remove everything except the TV, figure out how to hide the wires, please, and paint the firescreen screen black to balance out the TV.
