Strawberry Problems

FIRST STRAWBERRY PLANT

Came home from work to find a strawberry that was almost ready to pick, but when I got up close, found holes in it. See 1st two photos. It's hard to see the holes in the second photo - they are smaller than the first and not as deep.

Was hoping it is only slugs, that Sluggo can take care of, but then saw the leaf on the same plant that is damaged from something else - something not strong enough to bite through the veins.

SECOND STRAWBERRY PLANT

The 3rd photo (leaf only) is from a different kind of strawberry plant. It almost looks like bird poop, but it's not splattered like normal bird poop. It's a coating of some kind. Ideas? Maybe it really is just tidy bird poop?
