Rose of Sharron Question // Plant Not Doing Well

gle2011

Hi,

We have a Rose of Sharron planted in partial shade that doesn't seem to be doing very well.

It was planted two years ago and it had some blooms.

This year there are no blooms and the leaves look a pale green.

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Please see attached picture. Notice light green leaves. Are their varieties that have light green leaves?

They do better in full sun and with regular fertilizing.

What type of fertilizer is recommended?

    All purpose?

    Liquid or granular?

    Thanks

You can use granular or liquid, but must read the instructions. I would not use fertilizer spikes, I use liquid fertilizer. The growing season is almost over, you should not use fertilizer in the fall, feed your plants and trees during warm season.

My Rose of Sharron is starting to drop it's leaves.

I would like to transplant it into another location.

Is okay to move it now?

    Zone 5b.

I usually wait until they are fully dormant before transplanting or heavily pruning as these things may force them to develop new growth otherwise. If you move it now, try to get as much of the rootball as possible.

I wouldn't move it until the spring if the leaves are falling off already... Giving no less then 5-6 hours of sun.
