Painted aluminum siding needs new paint!

Discovered that my siding was painted with wrong paint by previous owner and it's peeling. 1941 bungalow with 1941 aluminum siding, but I don't think I can afford to replace the siding. Can I paint this again with the proper prep? What IS the proper prep, and which paint is best?

Are you planning on taking on the project as a DIY or hiring out a professional? I'd first get a bid for both options if you're able to. To remove the peeling paint and prep the house for a new coat may be more of a project than you're willing to tackle.

Lots of pressure washing and scraping with putty knifes and priming the surfaces with peel bond primer and then paint it can take a while to finish the prep but make sure that is done correctly to prevent future problems I agree get bids for the work
